There are videos out there putting the two serves head to head.
This is what Samuel Lopez has decided to change.
This is the first big change that Alcaraz has seen going from Juan Carlos Ferreira to Samuel Lopez.
They've decided to focus on the serve.
They've identified this as the first change that Alcaraz needs to make in order to catch up
What's interesting is that Alcaraz still has the better head-to-head record.
lose in the ATP finals and lost quite convincingly in straight sets, Carlos Alcaraz is still the man who leads this head-to-head.
Carlos Alcaraz's problem hasn't been playing against Yannick Sinner.
It's the fact that Yannick Sinner has been incredibly consistent against everybody else.
So maybe they feel that by changing up this serve...
It's going to give Alcaraz a lot more free points against everybody else.
But it could also be a backward step.
This change could take some time to bear fruit.
And in the meantime, what it could allow Janik Sinner to do is not only win the Australian Open, but there's a real possibility in my eyes that Janik Sinner could widen the gap between
and win every single one of the slams this year.
That is not beyond the realm of possibility.
I certainly think that Sinner is going to be able to win this one, not only because Sinner right now looks like the better player in better shape and has also been dominant on the hard courts and in this specific tournament,
but also because Carlos Alcaraz is in a much different quarter.
Now, I remember last year, we were able to just clean up by parlaying together Carlos Alcaraz and Yannick Sinner together to win their quarters.
