I think the fact is, like,
Yes, we're talking about world class players in terms of replacing a Van Dijk long term and so on.
And ultimately, if everyone was of that same standard, you wouldn't think that they were that good.
So I think he has to stand out for a reason.
Those types of players should be at a premium.
They shouldn't be seen very often and everyone else below it.
You know, they can still be national level standard, can be Premier League standard, but they won't stand out the same way that, say, a Van Dijk and other people will do so.
I'm at peace with it and you know if you want to see like good quality defending for example you know watch Sunderland look at Alderete look at Mukiele look at people like that I think they've got probably the third or fourth best defensive record in the league but none of those guys are essentially world-class but then also they've only scored 21 goals I think in 21 games so I guess it's a bit of a trade-off do you want your defenders to be really robust and nothing more or do you want some attack as well and maybe the defenders aren't necessarily up to the standard that you'd hope for yeah
