A rescue mission is underway following a deadly volcanic eruption at Mount Dukono in Indonesia's Halmahera Island.
A joint task force comprising Indonesia's National Search and Rescue Agency, the military and local police responded to the emergency after 20 hikers were caught in the eruption.
While 17 individuals were rescued safely, the disaster resulted in three confirmed deaths, including one Indonesian woman and two Singaporean nationals.
Military officials have directed additional troops to the volcano's summit to assist in recovering the remains of the foreign hikers.
