And so this is actually, in my opinion, transcending beyond just a race issue.
It is an overreach.
It's unconstitutional.
And to just drill down and double down one more time on the media point, when I've had opportunities to speak to our press locally, the thing that I've been calling them out about is if you are going to continue
to be neutral about the dismantling of our democracy, then don't expect to be protected by it.
You can't stand on the sidelines while our democracy is being attacked.
It's being dismantled.
Our constitutional rights are being violated.
And you're being neutral.
You're being, quote unquote, objective.
But then when your journalists are shot with rubber bullets and arrested, now all of a sudden you want to scream about the First Amendment right.
But when citizens are on the streets being unconstitutionally arrested and unconstitutionally harassed for paperwork, then you want to be objective and neutral somehow.
And so the media can't have it both ways.
You can't sit here and say that you care about accuracy and facts, but then allow people on your platform who spread this rhetoric, racist rhetoric.
which in the state of Minnesota, Eli, I heard you talking about this before we came on, like the fear, right?
Like a lot of local officials here are paralyzed by fear, which is extremely real in the state of Minnesota with just less than what, six months ago, one of our elected officials was assassinated.
And so people are terrified, not just because of their jobs or their social capital or anything, but people are in fear for their life because political violence is real.
Every time we have a protest or a press conference, Eli's always saying, I got to get back home to my wife.
My wife's going to have this baby any day now.
