You know, I've been out covering protests that got intense after Dante Wright was killed, after the murder of George Floyd.

And I've been around flashbangs being deployed before.

And so when I got home, my husband asked me, you know, was I OK?

And I was like, there was something different about the flashbangs.

That they deployed tonight.

I said they were so strong, the entire block shook.

And I think maybe people thought I was over exaggerating.

And so then to turn on our local news channels and see that they actually did get in touch with that family who.

who confirmed all of their airbags deployed.

I mean, that just confirmed what I had been experiencing and being able to juxtaposition it to other really intense protests.

So I think it underscores some of the things we already know, some of the things that we've seen in executive orders that have come out from this administration saying that

He would be equipping, you know, ICE and local law enforcement with militarized equipment.

And so we have to understand that they're coming into our neighborhoods and actually using equipment and materials and weapons that they would be using if they were overseas in war.

Including chemical weapons, Don.

Now, I was just going to piggyback off of what Georgia said and to say not only are they using these military grade weapons, but they're also using very strong chemical agents like green gas, you know, and deploying that around the community.

So, you know how when all of this started, a lot of black folks in our community said, hey, we're sending this one out.

As if we can be hands off when they're coming into our community.

Even the second story you showed about the Liberian man who got released to a detention center, that happened in North Minneapolis as well.

Again, predominantly African-American community.

you know, descendants of American slavery who are being impacted by the actions of ICE.
