My ha my mother had her cookbooks were next to the kids' books in the playroom in her house.

And after I grew up in a in a Japanese style house.

Oh that I didn't even realize it.

It was built

My mother had a architect build it, but it was definitely like an Ando style Japanese house that I in the sixties with Danish modern furniture and maybe that imprinted on me.

I don't know, you know.

But I was always obsessed with food.

I was gonna I wanted to be like, oh, export import.

That's the thing that people, you know, want to do Yeah.

But that was so unrealistic.

And in fact I was good at it.

And um

So but when I first I I started having classes at the house, I had I kept some Kum Kumagaya private lessons and then I um also had uh lessons at the the house we built and it sort of grew.

Um but

The food focus was always there too.

So I would give the little kids I would give them cards as incentive to not to to do a good job or to speak j English.

And so whoever got the most cards, they would get cookies to take home.

And of course I could not give 'em score store bought cookies.

So at the break time I gave them homemade cookies and really good milk and then um

the reward for the f top three or four card holders would get two more cookies to take home.
