Oh well this country uh just uh you know went communist and nationalized their oil industry.

So that's an imminent threat.

So we need to be preventative by invading them.

And it's like that's not preventative.

That's you wanting to protect capital.

Like that's not you can convince us that event you can claim that eventually those communists are gonna threaten the US.

Um, I don't know, maybe by being literate or something.

and reading all our books.

But uh

Sorry guys, Cuba's got a really high literacy rate.

But you know, all all of these, all of this like Latin American wars that we waged, all these invasions of of these, you know, socialist and communist countries, we were sold on those as being preventative, or at least we were, you know, that was the the pitch.

But I think even saying that at this point is generous.

I mean, that's just the US protecting its, you know, its business interests internationally.

So lo and behold, you'll

still get defenders for those wars because you're going to get people who buy the propaganda, you know, talking points for every generation, or you're going to get the people for whom propaganda talking points are just an easier way of saying, you know, rah-rah, US jingoism, we're always right, which is obviously not true.

But

You're still gonna get those defenders, but I think, you know, in the long run, there's no one being like I mean, there's not a lot of people going, Well, you know, Vietnam was a great idea.

You know, we did we we were totally in the right in all these Latin American wars where we let dictators take over and torture civilians.

You know, I I think I think with time we've realized that so much of what we would have even called preventative is, you know, hoke em.

It's uh it it's just a sales pit.
