Morgan Stanley now expects the RBA to hike in September after stronger than expected July inflation, with chief economist Chris Reid saying another upside surprise could bring a second hike in November.
So we've now got September and November apparently on the cards.
The ASX two hundred slipped point two percent to nine thousand and eighty-two on Monday.
Mining and tech stocks bore the brunt.
We saw BHP, Fortescue, Rio Tinto all falling.
Gold miners were also hit as bullion fell more than three percent.
The big banks, meanwhile, helped to cushion those losses.
Energy stocks also gained as Brent Crude approached ninety US dollars a barrel following renewed US strikes on Iran.
We'll have more on that later.

And rightly so.
So a new fair and reasonable test would stop companies collecting more information than they need or using it in ways that Australians wouldn't reasonably expect, which I think is a really nice distinction.
