And the lactation consultant in the hospital was like, it's very hard at this age.
You know, they're just so little and they just don't have a lot of control to like really get them both on and latched at the same time.
Like just I would just wait to maybe try and do that until later.
So we knew that feeding them at the same time was the only way to survive.
So I obviously started just like pumping as much as I could.
And we were bottle feeding them with all of that.
And then we had a lactation consultant come to our house and I kind of told her the same thing of like, I want to bottle or I want to breastfeed.
But I have we have a two year old like I don't have all day every day to feed these.
And she basically was like, yeah, it's going to take you over an hour to feed both babies a full day.
thing and I was she was like you don't have time for that you know like so she was so great at being like if you want to just breastfeed one and bottle feed one do that if you want to just breastfeed for five minutes out of a day to say like hey I connected with that baby I did it I you know do that and so I think like
that letting go of that expectation of like, you've got to simultaneously feed them.
The only way you'll connect or survive.

My mom was so great about being like, River is the priority.
These babies are not going to know that they were set down, that they were held.
They're not going to remember.
River needs the most attention right now.
