A mere 12 games in, I asked the question, is this weekend series against the Pirates the toughest test for the Cubs so far this season?

The Rays were good.

They were top five, as I mentioned, in average.

as a team in Major League Baseball when the Cubs went to face them at home.

But the Pirates are top.

They're in the top 10 in batting.

Right now, the team batting average, if you're into that sort of thing, is .247.

That's good for eighth in baseball.

And even despite all the pitching woes that the outfielders have created for the Pirates, they're still seventh in Team ERA at .333.

So this is a good test.

For the Cubs at home, you get to see Suzuki back.

I feel like there's going to be a little more energy in the building today at Wrigley because of it.
