And uh I mean perhaps like another contrast of where we were twenty like twenty eighteen versus now is just the general capability of like visual common sense and like I show you a scene, what's happening in it.
I mean this is basically solved right now.
Like you know, machines can describe this in intricate detail and get the nuances pretty well.
But like it was not too long ago in two thousand and eight, like visual QA was really hard.
Like you showed up
the computer system, a picture of a baby holding like a a toothbrush and it would said like a young man holds a baseball bat or something.
And like there were memes of this on Twitter.
And it was so easy to spoof and brittle as hell.
And
It was uh I think with GPT too that you know OpenAI started showing that hey, you could treat an image as a sequence of pixels.
And so you can process pixel by pixel as like a sequence instead of like doing these image patches and a model could could somehow learn to do completions that way.
So I think I was like when we put this in the report a few years ago, I think this was like the first
Um sort of like sign that
I think it's Rpathy who edited the report at that point said like this is like a general purpose uh you know, architecture that's that scales way better than than uh than convolution.
