When I wake up there's no way of knowing how long I've slept.

Rattling the rest in front of a brightly lit window.
A window that is like a portal to a world where the moon never rises.
The footsteps are in the hallway now.
I imagined the creature walking tall, having just deceived darkness,
It opens doors as it walks, entering the second bedroom to search beneath the bed and tear the blinds off the windows.
