without trying to jump into the middle of gender politics that I think it's, I think men have an easier time saying I'm done.
And I think women have a harder time saying I need help and I'm not responsible for everything all the time.

Okay.
Well, I think parental burnout isn't very different from work burnout, except it happens in the context of the job of parenting.
And of course, parenting is a job.
And like other jobs, you can burn out on it.
And so how would a parent know that they're burned out?
Well, they would feel burned out.
They would feel fatigued, exhausted, ineffective, even losing motivation.
They might feel joyless or...
perhaps even hopeless about their efforts and whether their efforts are ever going to produce anything.
They might feel defeated, like there's no end in sight.
And it can affect their self-esteem, their parental self-esteem, start to feel like as a parent, they're not as good as other parents and their kids aren't as good as other kids.
And they can start to even get symptoms of clinical depression or anxiety.
And it can just really take the fun out of
I wouldn't say I've been seeing more of it.
I think I've been seeing it more clearly because when parents come into counseling with a child or teenager, it's not because they haven't been trying and suddenly a symptom popped up.
