Fast forward to January 22nd of, I think it was 2010.
And we're in Phoenix doing a game.
And I knew Stacy was really eloquent.
He was quick.
He always had a quip.
He had a way of describing things that were almost beyond belief sometimes.
Like, how the hell did he come up with that?
But January 22nd, we're in Phoenix, and I thought I had kind of control of the broadcast.
I was the play-by-play guy.
Stacy was the analyst.
And all of a sudden, Derrick Rose dunked on Goran Dragic.
And oh, my gosh.
Stacey went on about a 30 or 40 second rant, which you can find on the internet.
Unbelievable.
I was like speechless.
And he ended that rant, though, with something that was appropriate for Stacey and appropriate for Bulls fans.
As he reminded us all that Derrick Rose was from Chicago.
And it couldn't have been a more appropriate ending to this rant he was on, which was hilarious and descriptive at the same time.
And Stacey had a way of being that.
