If you made a bad pass, you made a bad pass.

If you weren't in the right place defensively, he wasn't afraid to say it, but he didn't pick on guys.

And obviously, you know, anytime you're, whether you're doing the job that you guys do or the job that Stacey and I were doing, you're going to have favorite players that you're less likely to be critical of.

But he never made it personal.

And he had a great relationship with the players.

The players respected Stacey.

and I don't ever remember a player being upset over something that Stacey said.

Yeah, 100%.

There were two people who he respected so much, and one was Norm and one was Johnny.

And I remember I was still doing radio, and Stacey, they tried to go with like a three-man setup with Tom Doerr, Johnny Kerr, and Stacey.

And I remember Stacey...

They almost had to force him to talk because he didn't want to step on Johnny.

And he didn't want Johnny to think, well, this guy's trying to get my job or anything.

And nothing could have been further from the truth.

And so because of that, Johnny and Norm...

and others, whether it was Jerry Sloan or something, had great respect for Stacey.

And the other thing, and you mentioned it, his knowledge of the history of the franchise and what it had gone through to get to those championship years was really, really strong.

I mean, he knew everything.

I was shocked.

Because a lot of former players have no idea what happened before they got there.
