we created an ordinance that required at least 180 days per year occupancy by the owner but i don't know if the state has overridden that or if that is still something within our ordinance i don't know if james knows the answer to that one i wouldn't want to speak off the top of my head on that one i want to go back because there's a number of different bills that came through that that adjusted something sure
Nothing we have to appeal to the state for that.
OK, fine.
Well, let's get before we leave data centers.
I've read a pretty extensive article today, which I forwarded to a number of people on council and elsewhere regarding the process by which projects throughout the country are approved.
And this one happened to be in Louisiana.
And so what I would offer is we should petition the state, whether it affects us directly or not, that this process of projects springing up or being sprung on residents after they basically have been completely negotiated and shrouded in secrecy through the use of NDAs should not be permitted in the state of Virginia now.
I know we are.
in Leesburg empowered to a greater extent than that.
And it's not likely to happen here.
But we do have jurisdictions in the state of Virginia where residents could actually see that happen in their areas.
And so I would look for some support on council that we petition the state for that.
And finally, we have a system.
here in town, and not just here in town, by which we can only find assess fines of ridiculously low amounts in an attempt to discourage applicants or projects from deliberately sidestepping regulations.
