And he sat there tight-lipped, and then he just broke out in tears, and he started crying.

And that was a really difficult moment that I remember very vividly.
And he was there for me.
He didn't judge me.
He didn't get mad.
He didn't get afraid.
He was just open to it.
Yeah, he reassured me that I was just a kid.
It wasn't my fault.
There was nothing to be ashamed of.
And there was work to do.
You know, it wasn't the end.
I think he intuitively knew that, too, because my dad was also an alcoholic, an addict, and he was in recovery as well.
So he was in the background.
I was rooting for me as I was falling apart.
And so when that moment came, it brought us together a little bit closer, but it also showed the depth of where I needed to go to get well.
