Yeah, 'cause the need is when to push, when to when when when when when when to um yeah.
We we we had um a bit of professional development here in in in in the clinic um not long ago and and one of our wonderful psychologists um put a bit of a model together and presented it.
And what what what was really interesting about that after walking away was this concept of how dysregulation, you know, whether we talk about anxiety or whether about you know depression or whatever it might might be.
how it affects uh our naturally our prefrontal cortex.
But he he he spoke about in the way of saying, you know, access to not in these exact words, but access to IQ.
And so when you're dysregulated.
i.e.
when I'm angry, I'm not the most logical and reasonable uh uh you know uh husband, um, you know, friend, uh all of the all the resources are being shortcut.
Yeah.
And so when when you said to me just a moment ago, you know, if if the parent is action anxious, um, to me, you know, I immediately converted going, Yeah, it it robs me of my IQ, right?
My my capacity to to be predictable, my capacity to meet the other person's needs.
You know, I mean that's how
you know, I I'll argue in my in my life, um, you know, to to be sensitive to to the other, uh, because I'm I'm less connected with mine.
So I can see there's it would be easy
if observing my child to be distressed, for me to be distressed, you know, like there there's nothing else that you know.
And maybe that goes back to the whole how a child elicits a response.
From a parent because we're kind of biologically, I think, tuned in to to hearing that.
You know, takes a parent a long time to realize what's a cry.
