We should have probably capped the numbers initially at the start.
But now we've got to a point, you know, where it's now, what, four years on?
And people are going to say, well, look, you know, we can't just keep paying for this.
We can't just keep giving this money away constantly.
It's costing the Irish economy a lot of money.
No, I'm not saying we should support people.
Of course we should support people, absolutely support people.
And we should be helping people as much as we possibly can.
Those who are asylum seekers, those who come here, for example, under temporary protection from Ukraine, we should be helping people.
But there's a limit to what we can do as a nation.
A lot of that, and I agree with me, Al Martin, is compounded by the amount of people that have come to the country.
We have to be careful how we deal with things.
I know this idea that, you know, you must look after your own first is some sort of racist rhetoric or right wing rhetoric.
That's the job of the government to look after its own citizens.
