And in exactly the same year, which is phenomenal.
You know, there's just some spark of genius in both men.
Obviously, both rightly acclaimed for this.
Darwin gets most of the glory and he wrote a wonderful treatise on it called On the Origin of Species, which I would recommend to the listeners to read.
It's one of the most readable science books you'll ever come across.
And it's just a wonderful sort of primer about how nature evolves and how life originated.
When you're reading the book, you can actually,
see the moment when the light bulb goes off over Darwin's head, when he realizes that, my God, this is how the world works.
It's really phenomenal.
So Darwin gets, understandably, gets a lot of the glory there and a lot of recognition.
But Wallace was equally as eminent.
And among biologists and zoologists, he's very, very famous.
He came up with many, many theories.
And therefore, it's only right and proper that Wallace's line is named after him.

Just a wonderful testament to a very, very interesting man who did a lot for things like human rights as well, too.
He was well ahead of his time.
He was also one of the first people ever in the 19th century to flag that humans were having a detrimental effect on the environment.
Nobody really ever thought of that before him.
And now it's just one of the defining things of our era.
