Christopher Kinahan Senior is an intriguing individual who made his way up the ranks of gangland at breakneck speed and broke all the rules and all the records, really, of other Irish people before him.

He's somebody who was able to leave, properly leave behind Ireland, Dublin, family,

And he has had a number of relationships, all with people, none of which are from Ireland.

There's his current partner is he met in the Netherlands and she's of Dutch-Turkish extraction.

He speaks various languages.

He has mixed with mostly people.

outside of Ireland, bar John Cunningham and the few sort of individuals that he mingled with when he was within the prison service here.

But he really cast off his shackles of Dublin and Ireland.

have not had the same sophistication to do so.

If you look at where he has been for the last 10 years, perhaps he's in Dubai, perhaps he's a globe-trotting, you know, extraordinary...

person who has tried to make his way onto the world's sporting stage and to compartmentalize his criminal network.

But he has managed to marry a Dublin girl who had already been involved in a relationship with others who were

figures in gangland he has surrounded himself with his friends from home his childhood friend Bernard Clancy who's also sanctioned is still out in Dubai his cousin Ian Dixon also sanctioned and still out in Dubai and obviously Sean McGovern

He never really left Dublin behind him, did he?
