Some GPs would tell you there's been some progress, others would say there hasn't been much at all.
But there's a fair bit to unpick, basically, because a lot has happened over the years since the 10-year health plan came out last July.
There are a couple of things the plan promised that we would have expected to see by now.
An updated NHS workforce plan was meant to come out by the end of last year, but still
hasn't surfaced and it could be a big deal for general practice.
The existing plan would have grown hospital doctors 12 times faster than GPs.
So will a new version reset that and deliver more GPs?
Will it overclaim about the potential impact of AI on GP workloads?
So some of these questions ought to be answered by that plan.
Neighborhood contracts promised in the 10-year health.
Health plan for single neighborhood providers, roughly the size of a PCN, multi-neighborhood providers that are larger, covering populations of uh around quarter of a million people.
Those were widely expected by the end of last year.
And then for the start of the current financial year, but those contracts also haven't yet appeared, even in draft form for consultation.
The plan also spoke about integrated health organizations or IHOs.
That's the idea of top-performing hospital trusts taking on control of budgets, including for general practice, across entire regional health systems.
Contracts for those organizations also haven't yet materialized, but several hospitals across England have taken the first step towards being able to become IHO.
By achieving what's called advanced foundation trust data.
So one concern GP's raised here is that the hospital-led vision of the future for the NHS may be developing a little bit faster, while potentially those GP led neighborhood contracts have stalled.
GP spoke also about the impact of massive NHS reforms and how those had slowed down change over the past year.
