They could have protected him.
But they didn't.
And extortion is technically illegal.

And we don't know why.
But my belief is that... I mean, he was making millions and millions of dollars as a lobbyist.
I just think that he had gotten too big for his britches and was... Someone...
I can do what I want.
And then he found out that he was Dennis Hastert, but he couldn't do what he wanted.

I mean, he's embezzling money.
He's embezzling millions of dollars.
So his payment... And he's not getting audited.

And I think that some of that money went to the Contras too.
