Yeah, nothing has surprised me now.
I mean, the interest in cricket is global and it's not just the South Asian diaspora that's driving that.
There are people who have had very little connection to cricket who are interested in what the Big Dash is doing.
Yeah, that's going to be really important and I think it's important for listeners to understand that when we have funding cut, which we will as part of balancing the books, we'll need to supplement the cuts with the proceeds that are generated out of investing that money.
So this is not going to be a case that we have an inflow of money and then every cricket club across Victoria has gold taps in their bathroom.
I think that would be an irresponsible management of that money.
What's important is that we have...
returns that come in every year that we then invest into Victorian cricket, whether that's through facilities, whether that's through participation, whether that's through high performance.
But ultimately, that's the most important thing.
The Big Bash is important and we love it, we love watching it, but what really matters in cricket is the game that everyone plays on the weekend.
That's actually cricket.
And so we'll be using any funds that we generate out of the sale to protect the sport of cricket, not necessarily the Big Bash.
I mean, we have had privatisation in sport for a long time.
It's just I think people don't recognise it.
So the reality is our broadcast is privatised.
So what Kerry Packer did during World Series cricket was privatisation and is actually extreme.
I think everyone would agree that that's been enormously transformative for Australian cricket to the better.
That wasn't the view at the time, for those of us who were alive at that time, that was viewed with all of those emotions you've just described.
So, yeah, there are upsides of privatisation.
There are downsides of privatisation.
