I hope the rushing attack really can really impose themselves, but I do think they don't have the optimal personnel to do so right now with John Michael Schmitz and John Runyon probably being starters on that offensive line.
I think they're respectable players, but I think the Giants really want to be like a smash mouth defense

And they want players like Francis Maui, you know, and not necessarily players like John Runyon who are two completely different archetypes, but overall, I would say, uh, stopping the run, uh, if we're not going to go Jackson guard.
I'm a little worried about it.

Because say Darius Alexander takes a 10% jump, which is like incremental progress in his development.
That's not enough to really make the difference that we need.
And it's not even like we need Darius Alexander to make the difference that was Dexter Lawrence.
It could be a platoon type of effort.
But the entire defensive structure changes without Dexter Lawrence there because the entire offensive philosophy was...
I don't want to say the entire, but most of it was designed on mitigating Dexter.
Like Dexter Lawrence, when you're looking at the defensive sheet of the New York Giants, 97 was that first number that jumped out at you.
And now that's no longer there.
The Giants do have a lot of other talent, but it's a massive hole.
And I think Joe Shane did a solid enough job at least bringing in enough defensive linemen to compete.
But I don't know if it's going to still be enough, but that's just because the hole was so damn massive.
