paid attention to what he said, but here's what I took away from that.
Hey, listen, our offense has had some struggles and our defense has carried us this entire time.
So to carry us forward, to give us extra possessions, we not only need you to stop the opposing team, we need you to turn the ball over and give it back to us.
Now, that may not have translated to anyone else, but that's what it translated to my ears because the pressure, as we said early on,
that has always been on Vance Joseph in the defense.
And it seems as though it's going to increase from here on out.
If this was a top 20, a top 15 defense, the Broncos would not be where they are.
But because they surpassed what they accomplished last year in sacks,
And they have been as productive as they have been.
They've given the Broncos offense so many opportunities, especially in all those games where they've had those fourth quarter comebacks.
That doesn't happen if your defense is not shutting people out.
And it may sound as though like I am a homer of some sort.
And I'll say, yes, I am.
I'm a defensive homer because I know defense still wins championship.
All you have to do is look at the Broncos defense.
All you have to do is look at the Seattle Seahawks defense, and all you have to do is look at the Houston Texans defense.
The proof is in the pudding, gentlemen.
