And you hope that you are hired as a head coach before the GM, because when that happens, that means you have more power than the GM himself.
Well, while I agree with Sarah when you say, okay, well, who spends the most time with the quarterback?
It is the quarterback's coach.
But the only way for the Broncos to actually be able to, I guess, maintain or sustain a guy like Davis Webb is they're going to have to do the same thing they did with Jim Leonard.
Like Cody said, who was a very sought after guy after last season, you're going to have to give him a bump in pay, but you also have to give him a bump in title.
And this is why Jim Leonard had that assistant head coach title.
Zach Streif also has it as well because it's not just a title.
It is extra coin in your pocket.
And that title alone gets you a very, I guess, puts you in a position rather when that next hiring cycle comes around.
So teams can say, well,
he's not only just a corners or secondary coach, he is assistant head coach.
So that gives you a certain level of clout and prestige.
But as far as if the Broncos were to lose Davis Webb, I mean, they have options inside the building.
I'm sure Davis,
Joe Lombardi, who is, I guess, by title, the offensive coordinator, that guy, he can work with a guy like Bo Nix.
But if you lose Vance Joseph, I know the idea is that, well, you have a guy in waiting in Jim Leonard.
That's why they gave him the assistant head coach title.
But I would still say that is still not safe because you have the Dallas Cowboys who fire Matt Eberflus after one season.
