And the short version of the whole sequence is that a buddy of mine had...
It tipped me off that he thought that the 2016 guys were going to sit in the bleachers.
But as anybody who knows that was down there on Saturday knows, it was pouring.
So I started to go, oh man, I don't know if this is actually still going to happen.
So we get up to the bleachers.
And what's truly insane before the home run even happens is that the 2016 guys are standing in the back of center field.
just waiting because they got introduced and were pulling the flags up before they got introduced uh down on the field so i'm standing there and you walk up and there's miggy montero and there's you know david ross and lester and any guy that you could think of so anybody that had that moment of five or ten minutes in the bleachers one of the the security guys was going okay just highs and buys everyone eyes and buys so i look out to where they kind of had blocked off the seats
in the bleachers, and I sat in the first row where the rope wasn't.
And so I was like, all right, well, this should be interesting.
But when we sat down, nobody was there.
Everybody was still kind of filling in.
And my guess, looking back, is I just must have looked like one of the family members that had started to pile in, and nobody really said anything.
And a few minutes went by, and here comes...
Rizzo's dad and his wife, because I had seen them at the ceremony earlier that morning.
And so another five or ten minutes go by, and I mean, Layla, literally, I was sending my friends a picture.
The person that sat in front of me in the bleachers was Anthony Rizzo in his blue jersey from Game 7.
And my friend's like, you've got to be kidding me.
And Rizzo sits down, he goes, last time I was out here, somebody hit a ball to me.
It was crazy.
And so then Bush hits the ball, and I'm thinking, no way.
