And what I think a lot of people have understood is that you're not going to get your identity exclusively from your profession or from your bench press or even from your marriage.

Those things can be positive attributes of your overall identity.

But I saw some of the bravest men I ever know, some of the most capable and strongest men I ever know, really struggle with what happened when all of a sudden they left the military because their identity had been so locked in the fact that they were a soldier or they were a Green Beret or a special forces operator.

And the thing that I tell young men is my identity is first and foremost in Christ.

I'm proud of professional accomplishments.

And I certainly get a great deal of meaning and purpose from the fact that I'm a husband and the fact that I'm a father.

I take a great deal of pride in the fact that I'm an American and I love my country.

But ultimately, you have to find something that all that can be rooted in that is objective and transcendent.

And I think that's what young men mean.

I think you're right.

And I think the more we have left-wing ideological capture of culturally shaping institutions, whether it's education, whether it's our credentialing institutions, whether it's corporate America, the more they want to push out men.

And again, it's this faddish luxury idea that we're pursuing right now, but it doesn't really work.

I do understand why Gavin Newsom's wife thinks men are toxic.

It's because she predominantly hangs out with leftist men.

She's married to a toxic man.

That's funny.

She's married to a guy that sleeps with his best friend's wife.

She's married to a guy that has no idea how to manage a state.

And again, I say this flippantly, but it's something my wife also experienced.

My wife also ran for office in Virginia.
