It's fundamentally to do with the business model that it's decided to pursue. You're quite right. Most of us have heard of ChatGPT. A lot of us use it. OpenAI is pretty famous. But that's because it's tailored for the everyday consumer. You use it in your everyday life. You look up a cake recipe or ask it to plan your holiday. Anthropic, Claude, the chatbot, it can do all of that. But what it's done, it's focused a lot firstly on coding. And that's been incredibly valuable.
It's also focused on selling its system to, they call it enterprise in the industry, just businesses, basically commercial clients. You integrate Claude into your systems at work, into your computers, into everything you do, and you operate with Claude. And obviously, being a commercial client, you can charge an awful lot more. That's what's really, in a very simplistic way, been behind this unbelievable rise in terms of Anthropics value.
Olemme puhuvassa miljardista dollarista.

Nine days into the war Donald Trump gives an interview to CBS News. I just spoke with President Trump a short time ago and he said that he thinks the war is very complete pretty much. So understandably the price of oil plummets because there's the prospect of the Strait of Hormuz completely reopening and world oil flows getting back to what they were. That statement was first reported on X.
So Nick, how did you find this information? Was it easy to find and is it the same traders placing these suspicious trades each time? Well look, this is publicly available information and there are other market analysts who have been pointing this out all throughout Donald Trump's presidency that there are unusual trade activities that have occurred. In terms of who placed these trades,
It's very difficult to know. The only people who know who placed these trades are the traders themselves, potentially anyone that supplied them with the information on which these trades were placed, and also, crucially, the US financial regulators. They do have the ability to investigate and find out who were placing these trades. I reached out to the CFTC, the Commodities Futures Trading Commission,
They didn't respond to me, but their chair has been speaking recently about the need to crack down on insider trading. The same goes for the Securities and Exchange Commission, which look after the stock market. But when I specifically put these specific instances, which were analysed in my report, I didn't get any updates on to how those investigations were going or indeed whether they had even started.
Well, look, there's a school of thought that some people, you know, very, very sophisticated market operators are getting really good at trying to anticipate when Donald Trump will say something, when he'll intervene. They'll look at the market conditions and say, well, he's got to do something because it's not looking good for him, so he'll say something maybe today, maybe tomorrow, and then place trades based on that. Bets placed on the stock market are based on a huge range of information and intuition and things like that.
But there are a lot of experts, many, many market analysts, many people who look at the consistent pattern of spikes in trade before the US president says something and moves markets and say this is unusual.
So Nick, what has the Trump administration said? Well, I received no response when I contacted the White House, but you have had spokespeople in the past making it clear they strenuously deny any form of insider trading. There was one spokesman who told another outlet last month it didn't tolerate any administration official illegally profiteering off of insider knowledge. There was an email actually circulated to White House staff quite recently warning them not to place

This is the very narrow choke point south of Iran, through which a fifth of the world's oil and gas supplies have to pass. The vast majority of it, by the way, Ankur, is destined for Asia. These are all really big manufacturing bases, so you can understand how important it is to the world economy and how sensitive these countries are to any constrictions in the supply. One thing that's important to say, though, is that even though we are seeing a little burst of optimism today,
The facts on the ground haven't changed. So even though Donald Trump says the war is ending very soon, it hasn't ended. And it looks, to be honest, like it's continuing at full pace. And the Iranian Revolutionary Guards say there's no room to negotiate, we're going to carry on. The Strait of Hormuz is still controlled by Iran. There are no vessels that are daring to take the risk to cross it. So long as the facts on the ground don't change, the president's comments can only do so much.
The reason for the big jump is clear. You've got the most crucial choke point for oil tankers in the world effectively becoming a no-go zone overnight. The reason for this easing after that initial spike, not quite as clear, could be traders just taking a breath, looking at the fact that the oil market was generally actually quite oversupplied anyway before these latest developments. Other major producers are stepping up their output, and for now that's
We've only got three confirmed attacks on ships. The Iranians seem to be focusing much more on the US bases, not quite as much on the oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz. In terms of stock markets, yeah, they're down generally here in Asia. 90% of this oil passing through the Strait of Hormuz goes to Asia, by the way. Gold is also up. That's traditionally a safe haven in times of uncertainty. But generally, we're not seeing dramatic swings because...
Frankly speaking, the market did know that something like this was possible. And if the freezing of the shipping going through the Strait of Hormuz continues, what would that mean for the global economy? The longer it goes on, the more significant it is. The Strait of Hormuz is very, very important. It's this narrow stretch of sea just south of Iran, north of Oman and the UAE. As you say, one in every five barrels of oil consumed globally passes through the Strait of Hormuz.
