The reason for this easing after that initial spike, not quite as clear, could be traders just taking a breath, looking at the fact that the oil market was generally actually quite oversupplied anyway before these latest developments.

But Iran's repeatedly warned vessels not to pass through.
Shipping companies, understandably, just don't want to take the risk.
