Let me try to add some context here.
So first thing to keep in mind is that there are already, or were already, ICE officers in international airports.
Just like Customs and Border Protection is in the international airports, there are ICE officers there.
In most cases, they're there for a specific purpose.
Since the start of this administration, they have fulfilled the president's executive orders for DHS agencies to cooperate more on sharing information about potential immigrant targets that they want to arrest.
So you already have TSA doing more to share information with ICE, flagging for ICE agents.
passengers who may have outstanding deportation orders or maybe people who ICE is looking for.
And that was the case of this mother and daughter traveling through the San Francisco airport.
It's important to point out that their arrest took place the day before
the president sent the ICE officers out into the airports.
And the tell that I noticed immediately was that the ICE officers who carried out this arrest were not only in plainclothes, they were undercover officers.
They were wearing, like, hoodies and backpacks.
And the presence of undercover ICE officers in international airports is not new.
And in this case, they had been alerted to this...
