That brings us to culture, doesn't it? 'Cause one of the complaints about Keir Starmer, he's not a naturally empathetic man.
Now, to be fair to him,
I know friends of Keirstarmer and they are hugely loyal to him and he's had the same friends since he was at university.
These are his mates, he plays five aside, so with people who really know him, they speak well of him.
With people who don't know him that well or deal with him through work, mmm, not so good.
Does simply changing the leader change the culture?
What some people call the boys club of number ten.
Or does something more dramatic have to happen?
And is that partly about having more women at the top?
Because again and again this phrase the boys club is used.
Now Morgan McSweeney, when he spoke on political thinking, totally denied there was a boys' club.
Insisted that many of the people he worked with were women and were being patronized and not being the credit they deserved.
But you said it, Bridget Phillipson said it, Lisa Nandy said it.
Again and again people say it.
A cabal mistreating.
Mm-hmm.
That's quite strong words.
Now you became a target.
And as I say, many journalists thought one of the reasons Morgan McSwinney asked for your resignation was because you had become a target.
Looking back, do you think in a sense you made yourself a target when you entered government?
