Well certainly the Council of Presidents of Medical Colleges had a summit about obesity and one of the issues that was clearly flagged was the need for financial incentives to create an effective strategy and to start really early and with the whole family.
And that means prevention really almost preconception and f you know, further on as children are born.
So
The whole family's engaged.
Well, there's not a lot of evidence that education alone does a lot in this space.
And uh this was reviewed by the summit.
Others may have an opinion here, but certainly the evidence that I've seen and the evidence that I've been told all suggests education alone will fail.

I suspect uh some of them do.
Many of them do.
Think so.
Changing behavior is really hard.
You know, ingrained behaviour doesn't change easily.
You need multiple incentives, a multi-pronged approach.
That's why education doesn't work terribly.
You change your brain, you change your gut bacteria.
There are physiological changes that then stay with you and unfortunately they reinforce the behaviors of eating more sugary and uh high fat foods and that's what
I think there's a fear it'll be successful.
And I think that means that actually eventually eventually they will lose a little bit of money.
