I would be drinking coffee out of it and I would be showing that I've still got it.
So that's the value of doing shows like this because it means you can listen to other people who are in that mindset and bounce stuff off them, which is really cool.
Yeah, no, it's a good one.
It's a it's a good
Good job, Mark.
Oh my work, Pauline.
I've had a bit of a journey the last few years.
When Men Cry came out in twenty twenty, which was my debut novel, literary fic, a drama about four men living in Sydney, talking about it's a topic about mental health as well.
So after I I I left Booktopia.
I've kind of dived into my other passion, which is kind of sports journalism, which is a really interesting environment and space.
Was very lucky to work at a couple of places there, take my podcasting skills in that regard.
I also have a sports podcast as well, like a rugby podcast.
And then last year I did a contract role with Rugby Australia covering the British and Irish Lions tour, which was basically the best way I can describe it.
It's like being on tour with Taylor Swift.
Like you're just going around from city to city, massive venues, ten different cities, ten different environments, and you're on the plane at six AM, you're working until two AM and then you're on the next plane out of there at at seven AM.
It's high intensity.
But since the start of this year I've actually been diving into freelancing because I finished that role and am doing sports journalism.
I've now kind of really thrown a lot more resources into date with the day booty keep it going and critically as well I've
been able to do more writing because with all of these changes of jobs, it meant that writing hasn't really had the chance to be a priority.
That's the reason for the gap.
