Have a player that you pay almost nothing because he's a mid-round draft pick.

Develop him into a star.

Trade him away.

Get a better draft pick back for him than you spent on him.

See that team give him a great contract.

Watch him play well.

Very poorly and very little for that new team to when they then cut him and then you once again bring him back into the fold for almost no money.

The Patriots did that countless times over the course of their 20-year run.

This is one of the first times the Chiefs are doing that.

I wonder if they might end up also doing that with Tyree Kill when he gets healthy.
