That's a very rare situation.

Yeah, a lot of it as I've gotten better is parts of the strike zone that I handle better than just looking for balls and strikes.

I think when I really limit myself, I'm generally covering strikes and I put a lot of borderline pitches in play before two strikes that sometimes you get hits, but they're not really driven and, you know, not any slug there and you're not walking.

And that's when I'm limited as an offensive contributor.

And so the more that I'm looking for strikes that I can drive and okay taking borderline pitches, I think that's the best version of most of us, but definitely for me.

Yeah, I think any kind of

cautiousness or making sure it's a good pitch is usually kind of language that makes you just hit foul balls and makes you late so it's it's really a yes yes no as much as you can and i think when you people describe being hot it's really just having the confidence that expecting a good thing to happen and then you shut down when it's not versus like hoping it is and a lot of times those kind of internal dialogues are what make the biggest difference i think

I've had some good help.

I think our hitting staff is really great in that they have a good feel of when to bring information.

when to just focus on the day in front of you.

And I think, you know, off season is more time for deeper dives, but those relationships take a long time.

And I think more than anything, it has to be driven by the player to make it your own because no one can hold your hand when you're actually in the batter's box.

And I think that confidence comes from when it's something that you really created.

And sometimes that takes time.

And, you know, John Maley, our assistant hitting coach,

legend has been telling me a lot of the same things for multiple years and it's it takes a long time for it to become something that it's not that i didn't believe him but it's just i didn't really know what to make of some information and then it takes time are you more open to information when things are going right or when things are going wrong that's a good question um i think there's just both ends of that are are pretty critical i think it's important to really

grab hold of times that are good and not that you can i don't pretend that i understand everything when things are going well but i think it's important to kind of bookmark some swings or moments or feelings and really just try and sit with those and own them as much as you can so that because inevitably things are going to go sideways and be able to tap into that space again and then also you know stretches where you're not doing well so at the end of the year last year
