Ultimately a treaty was signed, went through to Dรกil, I think it came into force last May maybe.
So all of these things have been going on simultaneously.
No doubt there's conversations about, you know, what sort of charges
you know, would be acceptable to a Dubai hearing.
All of this work has been done in advance of that moment.
So he's coming back.
I mean, that decision, I think, has been made in the UAE that they're satisfied with what the Irish state has shown them.
And while he'll get his hearing, he's coming back.
He may, you know... I think in Dubai, another part of the law is that
Yeah, look, it's a slightly different case, actually, because he was effectively deported from Dubai, but he wasn't sent back to Spain.
He was sent to Bali.
They basically said, pick a country, we're kicking you out.
Because there was no warrant issued for him at that point.
Well, there was no warrant that had gone through Dubai for them to extradite him directly to Spain.
There was a warrant, obviously, for him in Spain.
So they kicked him out to Bali and the Spanish government contacted Bali and said there's a warrant out for him and Bali extradited him.
He's currently actually in the Netherlands.
He was extradited to the EU and he's in the Netherlands awaiting extradition again to Spain.
So it's slightly different in that the Scottish authorities didn't go to the Dubai officials and say extradite him to us
It was involved in that first round of arrests, not that first round of deportations.
