The situation came to light on February 1 when police received a report about a video reportedly showing a man repeatedly striking the young girl.

The incident reportedly took place in the home that Raymond shared with her boyfriend, Basil Neal Woods.

Law enforcement obtained that video, which allegedly shows the man, 25, wearing a mask.

He is said to have entered the bedroom where the child was asleep on the floor.

The complaint indicates that Woods can be heard shouting at the girl before hitting her again in the back of the head.

After the child tried to shield herself with a blanket, Woods allegedly continued to assault her with the boxing gloves, threatening her and making disturbing remarks.

Woods is accused of striking the girls again in the ribs before leaving the room.

Authorities conducted a search of the home on February 4, where the woman was present and allegedly assisted police in locating the boxing gloves used in the assault.

Investigators described the home as chaotic and unsanitary.

During an interview with investigators, Raymond reportedly admitted to being aware of the assault and claimed that she had asked the man to help her with the girl.

Acknowledging her involvement in the attack, she asserted that the use of gloves was intended for playful boxing, not to inflict pain.

Raymond is set to appear in court on February 26.

She has not yet entered a plea.

The man was arrested on February 3 and is facing charges of gross misdemeanor, malicious punishment of a child.

He has a hearing set for March 4.
