I think if you build a great product, a great company, and people like your product, eventually your brand survives all of it.

I think you can have a great brand, shitty product, shitty execution, and your brand goes to hell in a handbasket.

See, I spent many years at Google, as you know.

I actually was chief marketing officer for five years.

And if you look historically in technology, there are companies which have died who had great brands.

Remember Sun Microsystems?

It's a darling 30 years ago.

It doesn't exist.

Why?

Because their brand went dead or the product went to hell.

What about Yahoo?

Remember that company?

It's a great brand.

Amazing.

It's way before Google.

I think it's probably a fraction, probably even a two decimal point number versus what Google is.

So I think product helps make brands.
