But at the same time, I really like having a housemate.

I don't think that you need romantic love, that crazy spark in order to have a happy marriage and a happy life with your partner.
You just need someone who is dedicated to understanding you, is going in the same direction as you and is who you are moderately attracted to.
That's all you need.
Anything else is just a nice to have.
And if you can find someone who's meets those three qualities, then you should commit to them regardless of your criteria.
I feel like that's settling.
It's making me feel like I've made some bad life decisions recently.
