So they wanted to have them listen to music and see if they got lyrics, but they didn't want to use music that people were familiar with.

So they went to the Australian pop charts, which apparently have like all the same genres we do.

They got rock, rap, pop, country.

Dominique told me that the Australian country songs for some reason are still about Texas.

And she asked them questions basically like who was the main character, who was sitting in the car next to this person.

And they did find that the people that scored higher on the lyrics scale were able to answer these questions better.

So the way they answered those prompts did accurately represent how well they paid attention to lyrics and songs.
