So it's all very well having the randomized trial that tells you this drug's better than that drug or this drug's better than exercise, but somebody actually might prefer to go down a route which isn't quite according to the best possible standards but suits them better.
for people listening to us who put themselves in the role of patient, they'd say, Well, that sounds right.
People listening to us who might be doctors or nurse practitioners or something like that might say, Well, I spent a lot of time talking to people about their preferences.
But your research, what sh we'll get on to in a moment, suggests that while they think they might be doing a good job, they may not necessarily be doing so.
They might go home with a prescription and they may not fill it, or and if they fill it they may not take it.

There are tools, computerized tools, where you can add up your risk from your blood pressure, your smoking history, various other things, and give you a reasonable idea of what your risk is personally.
