And in that talk, what was interesting was I had a a 20 minute like window, right?

A 20 minute window to fit an hour and a lifetime worth of

of content.

And so I will give you the framework of how my talk works.

It starts off actually what I've been doing, it starts off of a cold open, meaning I drop you into an exciting moment.

The exciting moment that I dropped people into in this talk was I won the Cooper Hewitt National Design Award last year for Emerging Designer.

And what that has brought up was

That people want to define my work.

And so they asked me, What kind of designer are you?

And then my hesitancy to indulge in that.

And so I had this picture of me on this grand staircase with all these illustrious designers, and then me there.

And then I have this little bubble that's like, hey, new, what kind of design do you do?

And it's like a comic book thing.

And then me being like, I don't really know.

I'm trying to figure that out.

And then that

brings you in to the talk.

And part of that was like opening up with vulnerability.

And that's one of the most important things for me is that my talks are never like, I am the authority telling you what you should know and understand.

It's much more like, hey, I am a curious, charismatic person who's willing to learn in public.
