What uh and what we did see when the when the VRT was changed in 2020, a big shift uh uh that was when it was changed from vehicle engine size to emissions.
So you can really change behavior uh uh when when you change taxation.
And obviously, people have a right to spend the money how they want uh and to buy whatever cars they want, but the state, the public, the general public, has a right.
To to charge taxes in a way that gives us the public goods we need, which is including clean air, safe routes to school for our children, uh space on our roads for all of us.
And that includes not just drivers, but also buses and trains and bicycles and walkers in safe ways.
So yes, you can choose to spend your money and when you want and drive what car you want, but we have uh a right, as the rest of the citizens, to make sure that there's a right balance for the whole of society.
