We felt we did okay at City.
And then it was important tonight to get back to winning ways.
And I thought we ground it out in the end.
Yeah, I mean, a lot of work goes on on the training ground.
The system we play is quite unique in a way that we always look for the outside centre-back to overlap, which is something when I came, I was standing in the middle of the pitch and when I was thinking, what is going on here?
And the boys set off and the manager says, just stay there.
It's unique, but I think people are trying to work out how to stop it and match us up and try and tweak their systems, which is a compliment to us as how we've done it, but...
I think tonight we showed a different side to us that we can grind out wins and we were difficult to play against.
Yeah, I mean, the first meeting of pre-season was all about we're not too bothered about anybody else.
It's about us, we're going to attack it, we're going to play the way we play.
OK, teams might catch us out and Liverpool probably caught us out and City on the break, the second goal, they caught us out, which they're going to, they're world-class players, but...
We said, you know, let's not have any regrets at the end of the season.
If we're going to go down or get beat, then we're going to get beat playing our way.
And the gaffer's brilliant in the way that, you know, he doesn't care about reputations or egos or anything like that.
It's 11 versus 11 and impose yourself on the match.
And, you know, if 11 of yous are at it out there and a couple of them aren't at it...
It's not an easy place to come.
It's not the most glamorous place to come for some players.
You know, I don't think many enjoy coming here.
And to be fair, they're not the most glamorous visitors that the chippy's ever had.
