Did it feel very different to be in a more stable place in your own life?
It feels like that to me, and it's hard to articulate exactly why, but it feels like it has a kind of clarity and distance that means, paradoxically, that it gets closer.
I felt like I understood more, but it wasn't so overtly emotional, and yet it was very emotional.

I didn't mean they're all the same book, I meant that's all the same thing.
But also I think it's the you that changes.
It's not your subject matter.
It's that you keep changing around it.
So the story does sort of, like a kaleidoscope, acquire different facets each time.
