It's an incredibly boring and depressing book.

I didn't like it at all.

But this book is like the other half of Berlin.

It's like this book that's full of chaos and sex and people creating identities, but somehow not in the same way performing identities.

They're living inside performed identities.

Because he's trying to do the Perec thing.

Yeah.

He's trying to recreate that novel with just people's external possessions.

But if you did these people's external possessions, it would be a very different story.

But also people are kind of too busy taking drugs.

They were not happy.

I mean, yeah.

I know that's the point of Perfection.

You're supposed to feel like that, but I didn't really enjoy feeling like that.

But I guess part of it is...

The sense that you find a way to talk about, you find a language for sex and drugs, copious.

Oh, yeah.

Nearly unlimited sex and drugs.
