Well, it seems like DHS is trying to spend that 10 to 20 million dollars to get those gloves, Brad.

And yes, uh, they are essentially electric shock gloves.

GLOVE actually is an acronym, and what it stands for is a generated low-output voltage emitter.

And it's actually fascinating when you dig in a little bit more into what these gloves actually do.

I was flipping through the

Manual online.

And the first thing there is a warning.

And it says, quote, these items are not risk-free and should be treated seriously like any other weapon.

It says if used improperly, they may result in injury or death if not followed or observed.

And these are gloves.

It describes you flip on a switch.

It says the device has to come in contact with the subject's skin.

But there's also some serious warnings there, Brad.

And it clearly says in this manual that there are certain people in the population that these gloves should not be used on.

Uh, it says that they don't recommend using them on people like the elderly, small children, pregnant women, or the severely handicapped.

So, you know, certainly uh there's gonna be questions here about how these new gloves are used, uh, but certainly seemingly

Like something that they are trying to equip ICE officers with.

You know, they don't outline in that paperwork you talked about why they want these gloves.

In a statement, DHS said uh in part that quote, ICE is constantly assessing the needs of our officers in the field to ensure they have the tools and equipment necessary.

But certainly you're right, this comes at a time where there has been increased scrutiny on the tactics that ICE has used, which has led to multiple fatal killings uh to American citizens.
