This is Donald Trump being himself.
I mean, this is someone, you know, that I personally, as you said, I worked in the Trump administration the first time around.
And, you know, when he was out on the campaign trail saying these things, Don, the thing about this is that I knew and never believed it and kept saying, just so you know, I mean, this is a person who wanted to bomb Iran first.
uh during the first administration he was talked out of it by people around him and talked sense into but we don't have that anymore right now right we have a group of enablers that are surrounding him and are going to do whatever he wants and i think we're seeing that play out and you know i i when i look at those videos and think about the campaign and i think about what they said about kamala harris because you know there was stephen miller there were all these individuals out there saying that
electing Kamala Harris would bring war, that they would be the ones choosing war.
And now here we are, we have American soldiers dying, and we don't know where this conflict is going to end or when it's going to end, right?
Because I think this is going to, as we see, continue to grow.
I mean, this is a regional thing now that's happening.
Well, I've been talking to other national security officials in my circle and trying to figure out that exact same thing.
What drove this to happen exactly in this moment?
And, you know, there's been reporting we know that U.S.
intelligence did not quite support
what Trump has been saying publicly on the reasoning for it.
And that reasoning, as the others have discussed, has changed along the way.
It has evolved.
And for the Democrats on the Hill, what I would be hammering and asking about is, OK, so now you've taken this action.
Let's talk about the aftermath and what that means for the long-term security of the American people right now in the homeland and both abroad.
Because Iran plays the long game.
And so now we're in a situation where we need to be thinking about, how are we prepared
defensively for any critical infrastructure attacks for any sleeper cells that are out there for proxies for the potential of americans abroad being targeted what happens when assassination attempts happen here potentially and targeting of officials that happen here this is all that this kind of situation brings forward at the time and i think that
